CRYSTAL DUNBAR, LMFT

Whether you are struggling with depression, isolation, anxiety, social-emotional issues, racial inequity, colorism, support through transitions and identifying new passions, struggling with traumatic events, or relationship issues; I am here to support you. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process of honoring each unique path. My approach includes a toolbox of practices and techniques using Psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Relational Therapy, Mindfulness, and Wellness Coaching to help my clients facilitate social, emotional and behavioral changes. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of your difficulties and build meaningful social connections.
I welcome individuals of all ages and particularly enjoy working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. My 20 years in the classroom gives me a unique vantage point and a deep understanding of how life transitions can affect emotional well-being. I can help you and/or your child/teen work through the transition and develop new coping strategies that can be successfully applied in the home, school, and work settings
I am passionate about working with diverse populations, such as people of color, transracially adopted children and families, and marginalized genders and sexualities to explore the complex intersections of race, gender, sexuality, and mental health. Being a woman of color, I feel my personal experiences and expertise contributes to my deep understanding of the multicultural issues that impact individuals and family systems.
